Speeding up quotes for families with mortgage and income benefits

With the introduction of two-factor authentication, along with other security improvements we are making to the site, our policies, and procedures, the extra layer of security allows us to enable some exciting new features. We are extending the surname field, adding income fields, and household data. This will enable us to help make your experience of producing quotes quicker and easier. But first, this is what’s being implemented this week:

Optional Quote Wizard

Just below our usual ‘Classic Quote’ button, you will find a new option called ‘Quote Wizard’. The Quote Wizard starts by asking who is in the household and how much the household earns. Based on that information, it automatically sets up the right number of lives in your quote, and those lives are given an age typical for people in that group. The income is split between the adults, and income and mortgage insurance is pre-populated with the right amounts of cover for the income. We know that you will need to revise the ages and incomes to make them more accurate for you – but it makes the process of adding several types of cover for a whole household much quicker.

We plan to expand Quote Wizard in the New Year by adding more tools to pre-populate information, based on your quote choices in the past, and use households information from similar demographics as the ones you enter.

So, to summarise:

With two-factor authentication we now:

  • Have reports with full surnames
  • Can capture more personal information to use in your statements of advice
  • Enable our new Quote Wizard option

Use Quote Wizard if you want:

  • To quote a household quickly
  • Quickly add mortgage and income benefits for all the adults in a household
  • Get kids set up quickly

For now, we would like to see you try out the wizard and pass on any feedback or ideas for future improvements. The usual ‘Classic Quote’ will continue to be there if you experience any issues

Happy Crunching!
