Last week, our Research and Partnerships team had the opportunity to travel across the ditch to visit clients and reinsurers. We visited Swiss Re, Hannover, Scor, Gen Re, Munich, and RGA as a part of good general fact-finding and to discuss current issues in the marketplace. Some common themes across our meetings were:
- Concerns over the sustainability of individual disability Income insurance, which is a topic we aim to review early next year
- The rise of mental health claims and how early intervention has the potential to prevent future TPD claims
- The challenges advisers are facing with the increasing cost to provide advice
- The Quality of Advice review being conducted by APRA
