Hopefully you haven't noticed a difference, but Quotemonster has changed its hosting arrangements. Without boring you with technical details the new approach means that for 90% of Quotemonster users (a few haven't been switched) the service allows us a lot more flexibility.

To illustrate: at 4am on Sunday mornings there are usually no crunches or research calls being made on the site. Usage climbs gradually to a couple of dozen simultaneous crunches at, say, 11am on a Monday morning. 24 simultaneous crunches is about 240 quotes, plus research, plus a few dozen other users that are logged in and browsing.

Add to that when a company runs a workshop and suddenly there's a spike: maybe 60 simultaneous crunches, about 600 quotes, and more calls. And when we mean simultaneous, we mean it: spread them out even just over a minute or two and things are much easier, but have a classroom following an example quote and suddenly we need a whole lot more computing power at the back end to enable us to serve the quotes in a timely manner. Well, that's exactly what the new platform does for us.
