Exactly what kind of advice do you really give? Each of these things is helpful, but some aren't advice, and some have a greater value than the others:
Explaining what insurance is and how it works
Help clients figure out what kinds are needed
Help to calculate how much
Comparing prices
Help to fill in the application
Help to choose insurer
Help to choose options and features
Help to organize their affairs in readiness for when a claimable event might occur
Claims advice
How far down the list you get is crucial to the amount of value that you add. How well you answer each questions is as well. How well you can establish the trust of the client isn't really advice at all, but without it you don't get to give any advice.
