Causes of Death: NZ Data for ages 30 to 54

The top five causes of death for ages 30 to 54 based on New Zealand Ministry of Health data for 2011: 

 

This view is different to the normal view of mortality because we limited the age range to between age 30 and 54. That selection closely matches the years when more people hold insurance coverage – especially for insurance against the financial consequences of death, disability, and trauma. 

Of particular note is the high figures for accidents and cancer. Russell will write in more detail about these numbers in goodreturns and Asset magazine in the next few weeks.
