We have changed the way that benefits are added for children. In the Benefit Details screen you will now find a separate tab for each child that you have added (as shown in the screenshot below). You can add either health or trauma for each of these, the same as you would for an adult, which allows for greater flexibility in quoting.

It is still necessary to have at least one adult with one benefit on the quote, but it doesn’t matter which benefit, for example you could quote Life for the adult and Health for the children.

If you select ‘Health Cover’ you are now able to select an excess and options such as Specialists & Tests, GP & Prescriptions and Dental & Optical for the child for the insurers who offer these.

Please note that Accuro, AIA, Southern Cross and Unimed have rules that the children must have the same excess as the parent lives. For those other medical insurers, nib and Partners Life, you may quote different excess options for the children.

If you select ‘Trauma’ you will be able to add the additional child’s Trauma option for those insurers that offer one. If you do not select this box you will still be getting the built-in child’s trauma, if applicable.
